Faith in Minnesota has openings for Barbershop and Black Congregation Cooperative (BBCC) Relational Field Organizers to work full time on contract now through November 6, 2020 to directly engage community members to register and pledge to vote.
BBCC Relational Field Organizers will:
- Engage prospective voters at key centers of community outdoors in Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center and North Minneapolis around registering and pledging to vote,
- Collect an average of 30 vote pledges and 10 voter registrations per shift,
- Build powerful relationships with staff and community leaders,
- Report regularly on progress with voter registrations and voter pledges, and
- Meet regularly with Faith in Minnesota staff organizer supervising the position to trouble-shoot and solve problems in real time.
The ideal applicant will have the following qualifications:
- A passion for social justice and grassroots organizing as a means for social change,
- A demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment,
- Ability to work with diverse faith communities, racial groups, and diverse stakeholders,
- A smart phone,
- Ability to work Wednesday-Sunday 12pm-8pm, and
- Working knowledge of and comfort with, or willingness to be trained on use of basic smartphone or tablet hardware and applications.
- All applicants must have reliable transportation, a driver’s license, proof of valid auto insurance.

- Ability to establish quick rapport and willingness to engage people in conversations about the importance of voting,
- Quick learner,
- Integrity, strong work ethic and a “do whatever it takes” approach,
- Self-starter, flexible problem solver,
- Eager to learn, a good listener, and capable of working well with people from different backgrounds,
- Open to evaluation and direction from supervisor and peer-learning with agitation from colleagues.
Faith in Minnesota BBCC Relational Field Organizers will be paid $20.00/hour.
